AppColl’s Prior Art module saves you time by greatly simplifying the creation of Information Disclosure Statement forms for the USPTO. You enter a reference once, the system automatically cross cites that reference to all related matters, and then with a few mouse clicks you populate PTO Form SB08a. It’s that easy.
The Prior Art module allows you to easily add references. Just enter the patent or publication number and we fill in the rest. You can even import multiple references simultaneously from a spreadsheet. After a patent has issued, AppColl can pull references from the USPTO with the click of a button. If there are references that need to be cited, AppColl will clearly indicate that an IDS may be required.
Enter a new case to a matter family, such as a continuation or divisional, and easily cross-cite all references from all related matters. Just check a box and AppColl will do the work.
Generate a cross-citation matrix so that you can easily review which references have been cited against members of a patent family.

Fill a PTO IDS Form in Seconds (click to view larger)
From a single screen you can see all your patent applications, how many IDS forms have been generated per application, how many references have been cited in an IDS form and how many references need to be cited in the future. Anything in red means you have work to do.
See details of all the prior art references associated with an application from a single screen. Quickly view each reference name, publication date, patentee and IDS cite date. See PDF copies of your non-patent literature references. Click on a reference to see other patent applications associated with it.
Add new references to the system in seconds. Just type the reference’s patent number, application number or publication number, and AppColl will search Google and Espacenet for the reference details and then add the title, patentee and publication/issue date. AppColl also provides importing capabilities if you already maintain a prior art matrix.
With the click of a button you can cross-cite a new reference across all related cases. AppColl automatically updates to show you which application(s) need an IDS form based on the new reference citations. You can also cross-cite references based on subject matter.
Stop wasting time manually entering reference details into IDS Forms (i.e., SB08a.) At the click of a button, AppColl creates an XML file containing the necessary details to populate IDS forms. Open your IDS form in Adobe Acrobat and import the XML data. Save the PDF and you are done. Populate an IDS form in 30 seconds. If you have dozens of applications needing an IDS, AppColl can save you hours.
